Noh text by Deborah Brevoort; music by Richard Emmert

Tundergarth is a contemporary Noh drama that takes its inspiration from Deborah’s award-winning play The Women of Lockerbie, a contemporary Greek tragedy about the bombing of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie Scotland in 1988. Tundergarth jumps ahead 40 years to 2028; the daughter of Bill and Madeline Livingston from The Women of Lockerbie makes her first pilgrimage to the hills on the outskirts of Lockerbie, where her brother Adam died in the crash.  There she meets the ghost of her mother Madeline, who, in death, continues to wander the crash site.  An exploration of the historical legacies of trauma and grief, Tundergarth is an uplifting story about the choices one makes when confronted with the tragedies of the modern world.
